The Hutchinson HRA announces that the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has approved the Hutchinson HRA/City of Hutchinson application for funding for the rehabilitation of twenty single family owner occupied houses in the Northeast Neighborhood of Hutchinson.   Fifty eight of seventy six full applications were funded by DEED across Minnesota.   

Eligible homeowners in the targeted area may receive a 0% deferred loan forgiven after ten years, for 70% of the repair costs.  Homeowners in the Northeast Neighborhood are encouraged to submit an application.  Applications are available at the Hutchinson HRA in the City Center Building at 111 Hassan St SE.  HRA office hours are from 8AM to 4:00 P.M. Applications will be processed on a first come first serve basis.

The Hutchinson HRA announces a new Discount Energy Loan Program for residents of Hutchinson.  A grant was received from the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency to discount home improvement loans that include one energy improvement item.  These Community Fix-Up Fund loans may be used for roof replacement, kitchen or bath remodeling, and many other fix-up projects as well as energy improvements such as a new furnace, new windows, insulation, etc.   Discounted interest rates of 4.0% for loans up to $20,000 are available for households whose incomes do not exceed $83,900.     For more information, please call Judy Flemming at the Hutchinson HRA at 234-4251.Equal Housing Opportunity Logo

HOME HELP Program for foreclosure mitigation


The Hutchinson HRA announces that a new program for foreclosure mitigation is now available for houses purchased within the City of Hutchinson to provide homebuyers with cash to close and provide funds to bring homebuyers as close as possible to paying 30% of their income for housing costs.

The HRA applied and was approved for the HOME HELP program as part of the Hutchinson Workforce Housing CASA Initiative. HOME HELP is an entry cost/closing cost assistance program with up to $14,999 available to eligible homebuyers. 70% of the HOME HELP homebuyer loan is forgiven after five years.

The Hutchinson HRA is pleased to announce that $1,500,000 has been awarded from Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for the City of Hutchinson Workforce Housing CASA initiative. CASA is a primary part of the Hutchinson Home Purchase Opportunity Program (HHPOP) and offers a below market interest rate and a zero percent entry cost assistance deferred loan to first time homebuyers with family incomes up to $55,000.
